Workmaster Is New Moniker for New Holland Tractors
New Holland brands new models with historic name to denote basic, simple machines.

For those who follow tractor lineage, the new Workmaster name applied to New Holland's 45- and 55-horsepower utility tractors will immediately remind them of the handful of Ford diesel tractor models from 1957 through 1962 that took on that name.
New Holland reached back for the name because it denotes a simple, economical, capable design, something they say their new Workmaster 45 and 55s exemplify. The new models replace the company's popular TT45A and TT50A tractors.
A historic name graces new models of New Holland's 45- and 55-horsepower utility tractors. Workmaster hearkens back to the 1957-'62 model years of Ford tractor history, part of the lineage of today's New Holland lineup.
The new Workmasters are powered with Tier III four-cylinder New Holland diesel engines that run on diesel or B5 biodiesel fuel. They feature cast iron axles, a large three-point hydraulic lift and have the option of front-wheel-drive axles.
The new models have 8X8 transmissions with four synchronized gears arranged in an "H" pattern and a dual range controller. Shuttling between forward and reverse is simple with a mechanical shuttle lever located just left of the steering wheel.
The new Workmasters are expected in showrooms early in 2010. New Holland says prices start at $15,600.
