With grain markets stuck in neutral — or worse — and demand uncertain in the face of mounting economic problems around the world, prices for fertilizers aren't moving much as farmers make final buying decisions before heading to the field. Some prices moved only a little higher at international, while others remain flat after recent increases.
Manufacturers are starting to reopen some plants shuttered in the U.S., however, a sign both demand and margins are picking up.
Ammonia prices were reported flat both at the Gulf and out of the Black Sea, with both still quoted around $180 a ton. Farmgate prices remain well above those values, of course, as dealers try to sell inventory bought at higher values.
