Weather Looks Favorable for Harvest

As September gives way to October it appears that most of the country will continue to have favorable weather for harvest, summer crop maturation and winter wheat planting according to USDA Meteorologist Brad Rippey.

"To put it in a nutshell it looks like temperatures will be on the warm side all the way across the West, much of the Plains and into the Upper Midwest," Rippey said. "Cool conditions and sometimes cloudy conditions however will affect the South and Mid-Atlantic states"

Rippey says in terms of rainfall patterns most of the country is expecting dry weather. Wet weather will be mainly confined to the Southern Atlantic coast as Tropical Storm Nicole and other tropical moisture will maintain a wet pattern in that part of the country.
