There are three fewer posts for Secretary Tom Vilsack to fill at USDA. The Secretary has selected Justin DeJong to be Deputy Press Secretary, Carol Clifford to serve as Senior Advisor for Labor Affairs, and Erin Hannigan to be Staff Assistant.

"These individuals bring the USDA a wide breadth of experience that will help realize the President's goals for a safe, sustainable and nutritious food supply while working to meet the needs of farmers and ranchers throughout the country," said Vilsack.

In the Office of Communications, Justin DeJong, the new Deputy Press Secretary, is from Iowa and most recently served as Illinois Director of Communications for the Obama campaign and as Director of Communications at the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce.

In the Office of Congressional Relations, Carol Clifford, the new Senior Advisor for Labor Affairs, served as a member of the Obama-Biden Presidential Transition Team and has experience in labor and immigration matters.

Erin Hannigan, who is a Staff Assistant, most recently served as Associate for the White Office of Presidential Personnel and as a Volunteer Coordinator for the Presidential Inaugural Committee.
