Tri-Traction, Compaction Fighter From Reinke

Center pivot maker's new all-wheel-drive articulated base beam provides traction and light footprint.

Published: Sep 16, 2010

Reinke Manufacturing revisited its three-wheel articulated base beam this year and added power to all three wheels for improved span traction and reduced soil compaction.

The flexible beam has 18-inches of travel built into the center of the span, and now, with power to all three wheels, irrigators with dips and hills can count on more dependable traverse of their terrain. In addition, Reinke says it's spans are nearly 1,000 pounds lighter than competitors machines, so overall compaction is even further reduced with the powered three-wheel footprint.

Reinke demonstrated the new base beam at Husker Harvest Days in Grand Island, Nebraska this week.

For a complete discussion of the innovation, we talked with Neil Lunzmann, Reinke's territory manager.
