Tornados and Flooding Hit U.S.

This week more than three dozen tornados touched down between northern Arkansas, through Missouri and into Wisconsin. January tornados are rare; in fact USDA meteorologist Brad Rippey says only twice in history have there been tornados in Wisconsin during January.

However; the bigger problem is melting snow and two rounds of heavy rains that followed the tornados which is causing flooding.

"There is some flooding underway already in places like Missouri and Illinois," Rippey says. "We'll see that stretching up into Michigan and eventually as we head on through the rest of the week, the Northeast and particularly interior New England could be a hot spot for flooding."
