The 43rd Top Farmer Crop Workshop is set for July 18-21, on the Purdue University campus.
The workshop is one of the longest-running agricultural programs in the country, and features a blend of both educational seminars and practical planning using Purdue’s linear programming model. The system allows farmers to compare different cropping and machinery mixes for their operation to see what provides the best returns.
This year’s workshop will feature over 40 presenters, including Farm Futures Senior Editor Bryce Knorr. In addition to sharing results on exclusive Farm Futures research on farmer collaboration, Knorr will show producers how to use hedging and seasonal strategies in their input buying. Farm Futures is also one of the conference sponsors.
Other speakers bring expertise from academics, ag industry, and from producers themselves. Topics range from
smartphone applications and wind energy to cover crops and financial planning.
