The Buzz: USDA, weather and outside markets confuse traders

Hard to tell what updated numbers will do to markets.
Compiled by staff
Published: Sep 30, 2009
USDA provided mixed results in its Sept. 30 grain reports, but fallout from the updated numbers is difficult to gauge. Farm  Futures marketing team of Arlan Suderman and Bryce Knorr chewed over all the week's market new during the latest edition of The Buzz. Larger wheat supplies could add more pressure to that market, which is already under pressure due to weak exports says Knorr. USDA's decision to raise Sept. 1 soybean estimates means the minimum supplies the "pipeline" needs are much higher than previous estimates, according to Suderman.
