Sprayer Aims for Bigger Market
Deere's new 4630 Sprayer offers an economy size package with plenty of features.

The John Deere 30-Series sprayer line-up has been popular for a lot of buyers, but in the interest of reaching more customers, the company is adding a new machine it's calling "economy sized." The new 4630 Sprayer aims for cotton farmers who want a low-cost, comfortable, productive machine that's simple to operate. Yet the corn, soybean and small-grain farmer will also have a use for this machine as well.
Buyers can choose between a narrow 72- to 88-inch, or wide 90- to 120-inch axle configuration. In traditional 30-inch row-crop areas, the wide configuration can straddle three or four rows. In cotton country, the narrow configuration gives the sprayer the ability to straddle two 36-, 38- or 40-inch rows to stay on hard centers.
Economy-size sprayer offers both narrow-width and wider axle options. The axle flexibility is a key to using the machine in a variety of crop applications, and the C-channel and air-ride, four-link suspended axle gives the machine a smooth ride. Spraying speeds up to 17-mph are possible with the new 4630.
The new 4630 Sprayer features a 600-gallon poly solution tank that sits above the sprayer’s axles to prevent crop interference. The sprayer’s hydraulically-driven centrifugal pump provides continuous four- to 95-gpm flow rates that deliver up to 40-gpa rates across the 80-foot boom width at speeds up to 12 mph.
The cab is GreenStar AutoTrac Ready and offers plenty of visibility. You can pilot the sprayer with a single hydro lever that moves with the ComfortCommand seat. Attaching GreenStar guidance and field documentations is simple too. You can use a StarFire GPS receiver and add a GreenStar 2 1800 Display or optional GS2 2600 Display to run guidance applications. These features are just some of what you can find on the machine.
The 4630 Sprayer is available with a 60-/80-foot boom that enables operators to spray at either a 60-foot width with the outer booms folded in, or at 80-feet with the booms fully extended. And, there are three tire size options to choose from that include 320, 380, and 420 sizes, so customers can better match their crop and application needs.
Power comes from a 165-horsepower John Deere PowerTech 6.8L, turbocharged diesel engine that's Tier III emissions compliant. The 70-gallon fuel tank offers up to 16 hours of operating time between refueling. You can learn more by visiting JohnDeere.com.
