Second Guessing Begins On Wall Street
Recovery this year may be hard to argue for.

After the financial meltdown that punished markets around the world over the past year, investors appeared ready, willing and able recently to move back into more risky bets in stocks and commodities. Now, however, that confidence appears to have been dented, at least a little by the reality that the global economic still faces plenty of challenges.
That fact was brought home by last week's employment situation, which showed the U.S. lost far more jobs than anticipated. At the same time, the unemployment rate rose to 9.5%, with a double digit reading likely sooner, rather than later.
To be sure, economic data out on a regular basis remains weak. But unless second quarter earning surprise in coming weeks, it may be hard to argue for a recovery later in the year.
