Schaffert Improves Disk Design for IH Planters

Straight disk cuts slice for fertilizer application and ensures closure behind the unit.
Compiled by staff
Published: Oct 7, 2010

A new straight fertilizer disk from Schaffert Mfg. is designed to improve fertilizer application performance on IH planters.

Schaffert replaced the concave disk that comes standard on the IH machines with a straight disk that bolts directly on in place of the original disk. The straight disk slices a furrow for the fertilizer, and the mounting offset design of the planter is maintained to ensure the furrow is closed behind the applicator.

The new disk can be used for both high and low pressure injection.

For more information, call (800) 382-2607, or visit www.schaffert.com.

An improved design fertilizer disk for IH planters is a new part of Schaffert Mfg.s lineup for the 2011 planting season.
