Friday Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar testified before the House Budget Committee that the economy is stabilizing. Salazar pointed out that the economic crisis President Obama inherited was years in the making. However six short months into the recovery Salazar said help is reaching those hardest hit by this recession through the Recovery Act. He said confidence is returning and America has begun to rebuild.
Ag Secretary Tom Vilsack testified Friday as well. He said the Recovery Act is transitioning America from bad times to better times, creating jobs and economic stability as well as funding the technology and infrastructure that will lay the groundwork for future economic growth.
Salazar says recovery funds will create jobs in the short-term and long-term - having a positive impact on the economy and according to the Secretary, Interior will commit more than a $1 billion of Recovery Act funds by the end of October.
