On Monday, Asian soybean rust was confirmed in Ashley, Drew and Desha Counties in Arkansas. The disease was found in soybean production fields. Four additional counties in Mississippi had new finds as well. This makes 15 new counties where soybean rust has been found since Sept. 1.
About 80% of the Arkansas soybean crop is in the R1 growth stage, so this is a very significant and potentially destructive situation. With the recent and upcoming hurricane activity, there is a high probability that rust spores will continue to be moved north. For more information and to track soybean rust, click HERE.
