Republicans Push Transparent Health Care Bill

Several members of Congress want to start over at the drawing board.

Republicans have urged President Obama and Congressional leaders to launch bipartisan talks on a new consensus approach to health care reform.

"Let's start over on common sense steps we can take to make our system work better," said House Minority Leader John Boehner, R-Ohio. "No one in Washington thinks our current health care system is perfect and certainly not Republicans."

In a Sunday morning interview on the ABC News program "This Week," Senator-elect Scott Brown, R-Mass., urged House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., to heed the concerns he heard directly from Massachusetts voters on the campaign trail, who told him they are upset by the backroom deals. Brown says it is time to go back to the drawing board and do it in a transparent, bipartisan manner.

Representative Chris Van Hollen, D-Md., says people were justifiably upset about certain things and that Congress is still looking at a way to do comprehensive legislation.
