Theme for summit focuses on achievability of reaching 25x'25 goal.
Compiled by staff
Published: Apr 13, 2010
The 6th National 25x'25 Renewable Energy Summit, also known as "25x'25: Mission Achievable" begins June 29 at the Crystal Gateway Marriott in Arlington, Virginia. Organizers say this three-day event will underscore the significant progress made towards the 25X'25 goal. Also, the summit will focus on the national security implications of meeting the 25x'25 goal.

Those expected to attend the 2010 gathering include policy makers; farm, ranch, livestock and forestry leaders; state alliance leaders; industry partners and technology providers; congressional staff and federal agency representatives. They will hear some of the nation's foremost experts address the role renewable energy development is playing in our transition to a clean energy future.

The objective of the 25x'25 program is to meet 25% of our nation's energy needs with renewable resources - biofuels, biomass, wind energy, solar power, hydropower and geothermal energy - from America's farms, ranches and forestlands by 2025, all while providing adequate, affordable and safe food, feed and fiber. Renewable fuels now comprise more than 10% of all energy produced in the
United States.
