With good rains across much of South America, Brazil and Argentina are projected to harvest record corn crops in 2006/07.
Brazil's projected crop is 46 million tons, according to an item appearing on Cattlenetwork.com. Projected harvest area and yield per acre are up as well, and although harvest area is not expected to reach record levels, yield per acre is set to exceed 2002's previous record.
Corn production in Argentina is projected at 21 million tons, also with increased harvested area and yields per acre.
South Africa has received below normal rainfall, resulting in slightly lower yield projections, and EU corn production is down slightly this month.
