China dairy scandal reaches United States.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has issued an alert to the public not to consume Mr. Brown instant coffee and milk tea products. The agency says the products are possibly contaminated with melamine as the Taiwanese producer of these drinks uses creamer made in China.

The FDA said the manufacturer of Mr. Brown instant coffees and milk teas, Taiwan-based King Car Food Industrial Co. Ltd. used "a non-dairy creamer imported from China's Shandong Duqing Inc." The creamer has reportedly been contaminated with melamine.

The recalls include: Mr. Brown Mandheling Blend Instant Coffee, Arabica Instant Coffee, Blue Mountain Blend Instant Coffee, Caramel Macchiato Instant Coffee, French Vanilla Instant Coffee and Mr. Brown Milk Tea.

The FDA recommends that consumers not consume any of these products and urges retailers to remove Mr. Brown drinks from their shelves. According to the agency's Web site, as of Friday the FDA testing of milk based products imported into the United States from China has not found melamine contamination.
