Oregon becomes the third state supporting increased reliance on cleaner-burning fuel with a 2% biodiesel requirement that goes into effect Wednesday. Biodiesel is already present in Oregon, as the state is home to three biodiesel plants and one of the greenest cities in the world with the City of Portland using a minimum of 20% biodiesel in diesel vehicles since 2004.
National Biodiesel Board CEO Joe Jobe says Oregon recognizes the proven track record of biodiesel performance as well as its benefits for green jobs, energy security, the environment and more.
Sustainable Government Policy and Program Manager for Portland Michele Crim says the city is committed to biodiesel and is happy to see the rest of the state using it too.
