The call for nominations for two-year membership appointments to the Secretary of Agriculture's advisory committee on foreign animal and poultry diseases was published in the Federal Register last week.
The committee, which will be selected for a broad representation, advises the Ag Secretary on how to prevent the introduction of animal and poultry diseases into the United States and also provides advice on contingency plans should a disease get into the U.S.
Nominations need to be submitted by Jan. 7, 2008 to acting director of interagency coordination Mark Teachman. Mail nominations to him at APHIS, 4700 River Road, Unit 41, Riverdale MD 20737-1231.
