This week the White House formally sent the U.S. trade representative nomination of Susan Schwab to the Senate. Senate Finance Committee leaders are looking to hold a hearing May 16, Congress Daily reports
Schwab currently serves as the Deputy USTR to Rob Portman. Portman was offered the top position at the Office of Budget and Management and is likely to stay on at USTR until the end of May.
During her first confirmation process, Schwab received bipartisan support with no opposition. Reports indicate this confirmation process should be similar.
