On Friday, Nebraska Beef issued a recall of ground beef produced in June and July that is potentially contaminated with E. coli. bacteria. Some of the meat may have been sold by Coleman Natural Beef to Whole Foods Market, the largest organic supermarket chain in the U.S. Whole Foods Market is voluntarily recalling all ground beef sold since June 2.
Thirty-one cases of E. coli have been traced back to Nebraska Beef. According to Nebraska Beef spokeswoman Libba Letton, all tests conducted with the recalled Whole Foods ground beef so far have not detected any E. coli infection.
