The National Corn Growers Association is a sponsor of the half-day dried distillers grains with solubles seminar at the 2007 Wisconsin Corn/Soy EXPO in Wisconsin Dells, Wis., Feb 1-2. The seminar will help to inform livestock producers about the nutrition and feeding of DDGS.

"This will be a gathering of some of the best people in the grain, nutrition and livestock segments of agriculture," says Bob Oleson, executive director of Wisconsin Corn Promotion Board, which will present the seminar. "Wisconsin is on the cutting edge of DDGS research. There's new research coming out about DDGS and dairy cattle that's important to everyone involved in the industry."

Nationally recognized experts in DDGS feeding and nutrition will present the most current research and information regarding the inclusion of DDGS in livestock rations. Dr. Ken Kalscheur, associate professor at South Dakota State University, will address DDGS utilization in dairy rations; Dr. Hans Stein, extension swine specialist at the University of Illinois, will discuss DDGS inclusion in swine diets; and Dr. Allen Trenkle, professor of animal science at Iowa State University, will speak on the use of DDGS in beef diets.

Registration for the DDGS feeding sessions includes lunch, an evening reception and all events associated with these meetings at no extra charge. Members of sponsoring organizations pay $60 for Feb. 1 or $80 for Feb. 1 and 2. Special $99 room rate that includes admission to the Kalahari indoor water park are available to anyone registering for these meetings.

Complete program brochures and registration materials are available online at www.wisoybean.org and www.wicorn.org or by calling the Wisconsin Soybean Program at 608-274-7522 or Wisconsin Corn Program at 262-495-2232.
