Krysta Harden, CEO of the National Association of Conservation Districts, has been nominated by President Obama to be USDA Assistant Secretary for Congressional Relations. She will coordinate legislative affairs and intergovernmental relations for Ag Secretary Tom Vilsack.
"Krysta Harden brings a wealth of experience to this position," said Vilsack. "Her extensive knowledge will serve USDA well as we work with Congress to address the important issues facing agriculture and our farmers."
Harden has been with the NACD since 2004. Prior to that, she worked for a Washington consultant firm focusing on conservation, environmental and energy issues. She also spent 12 years in various positions on Capitol Hill, including a professional staff member for the House Agriculture Committee.
