Thursday, the United States and Korea exchanged the legal texts signed by U.S. Trade Representative Ron Kirk and Korean Trade Minister Kim Jong-Hoon reflecting the agreement they concluded on Dec. 3, 2010 to set the stage for Congressional consideration of the Korean-U.S. Free Trade Agreement.
The signed texts consist of three documents: an exchange of letters between Ambassador Kirk and Minister Kim containing new commitments for the automotive sector; agreed minutes on regulations pertaining to automotive fuel economy and greenhouse gas emissions; and agreed minutes on intracompany transferee visas.
