Officials in Mexico say they will not rotate or change their list of U.S. products subject to punitive tariffs while the two countries discuss a proposal to allow Mexican trucks back onto U.S. roads. Among the products that list includes is U.S. pork. The two sides are discussing an initiative the U.S. proposed last week, which would allow Mexican trucks to drive into the interior of the country.
U.S. Trade Representative Ron Kirk estimates the tariffs have resulted in an estimated $2 billion in commercial losses.
