The Biomass Research and Development Technical Advisory Committee had six new members appointed and seven members reappointed for another three year term. The committee, which was formed by the Biomass Research and Development Act of 2000, helps the U.S. Department of Agriculture and Department of Energy meet goals to improve national energy sercurity.
The members come from a broad cross section with appointees coming from the industry, academia, environmental and trade groups. They provide advice on strategic planning and technical focus of biofuels, and encourage closer collaboration between state and federal agencies, industry and producers.
The committee meets quarterly, with the next meeting scheduled in Washington D.C. for Feb. 6-7. For more information about the advisory committee, click HERE.
