The Senate Ag Committee will hold a hearing Thursday afternoon in the Russell Senate Office Building in Washington, D.C. The purpose is to examine the impact of U.S. Environmental Protection Agency regulations on agriculture. EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson is scheduled to testify.
Ag Committee Chairman Blanche Lincoln, D-Ark., says they want to ensure that they are avoiding unnecessary, duplicative regulation.
"I look forward to exploring how we ensure the continued success of our producers by building a more collaborative relationship between the EPA and American agriculture," Lincoln said.
Others scheduled to testify are: Rich Hillman of Arkansas Farm Bureau, Jay Vroom of Croplife America, and Jere White of Kansas Corn Growers Association.
