The largest feed buying and manufacturing companies from Korea sent leaders to the U.S. last week to visit with U.S. grains producers and industry leaders to try and increase the knowledge of the industry to aid in making buying decisions. They met with several U.S. Grains Council members including the National Corn Growers Association, in Washington to discuss the U.S. feed grains industry before witnessing production firsthand. Meetings with other council members took the leaders to New Orleans, Minneapolis and Chicago.
"I was able to see the whole supply chain of the U.S. feed grains industry, from farm to elevator to ethanol production. Now I clearly understand how the whole system works," said Byung Ha Lee, Nonghyup Feed Inc. president. The leaders said they are looking for the opportunity to increase the volume of distiller's dried grains with solubles they purchase and after meeting with several suppliers they are now assured of the quality of U.S. product.
