June Basis Projections

All basis is local and here's a look at key markets and basis trends - including a look ahead to 2011.

Published: Dec 8, 2010

Perhaps the biggest factor impacting crop marketing plans is basis. Even high "board" prices are meaningless if the basis signals from buyers are bad. The Farm Futures staff has pulled together key basis trends for eight markets for June 1, along with a prediction of where the market is heading for 2011.

The projections are based on market conditions as of Dec. 1, and offer you insight for market planning. As always, check with your risk management adviser before acting on this information. This is trend data provided for your planning use, but is not intended to be market advice.
