The Chairman of the Senate Ag Committee, Tom Harkin, D-Iowa, has released preliminary plans to hold a hearing entitled "Global Warming Legislation: Agricultural Producer Perspectives and Trading Regulation under a Cap and Trade System". The hearing will explore the impact climate change legislation could have on certain agriculture-related issues.
The committee will hear from three panels, the first two will examine how best to regulate markets in a cap-and-trade system and the third will look to better understand producer group perspectives on global warming legislation. This will be the Committee's second hearing on climate change legislation.
