Give Your Farm a Financial Check-up

Program develops reports needed to secure your 2009 operating credit.
Compiled by staff
Published: Jan 1, 2009

January frequently becomes a time for enjoying the warmth of the farm office while catching up on the books. The uncertainty of the global economic outlook has many farmers reviewing their own financial health as well. William Edwards, Extension Economist at Iowa State University, developed a spreadsheet to answer many of questions you and your lender may have, focusing on your farm financial statement. The spreadsheet allows you to print statements for your lender, including a report of the most requested financial performance indicators needed to secure this year’s operating line of credit.

Do you have a spreadsheet that’s made a difference on your operation that you’d be willing to share with other readers? Drop us a line at FarmFutures@farmprogress.com with a description of the spreadsheet. We’ll pay $75 if we feature your farmer-written non-commercial program as our Spreadsheet of the Month.

Download the spreadsheet using the link below.
