France's trade minister is suggesting that the stalled World Trade Organization talks be restarted by pulling agricultural issues off the table and address them at a later date, according to Reuters.
France Minister Christine Lagarde says reshaping the negotiations and thinking again about how to better deal with agricultural questions, without hurting advancements in the industrial and service sectors, may prove to be the next needed step in negotiations.
However, since France is a member of the European Union it would have to convince the EU's trade negotiator to make the suggestion, Reuters also reports.
Reports out this week also indicated President Bush may be willing to offer more in agriculture, but not until after the November elections.
