In case you missed it, the National FFA Organization's Million Hour Challenge program surpassed its goal this year. As of the month of October, more than 1 million and 48,000 volunteer hours were recorded for the program. The Million Hour Challenge is a special initiative designed to unite youth across the country and strengthen communities through civic engagement and community service in the areas of Environment, Government, Social & Human Service, Healthy Lifestyles, and Education.

"We're proud of this achievement by our members," said National FFA Chief Operating Officer, Dwight Armstrong. "They understand the importance of serving a role in the community.  This accomplishment represents the premier leadership which FFA members demonstrate every day in their communities."

The Million Hour Challenge awards program is made possible by Monsanto as a special project of the National FFA Foundation.

The top FFA chapters in the program are: Rosewood High School FFA from Goldsboro, North Carolina; Wolfe County High School FFA from Campton, Kentucky; Ponchatoula High School FFA from Ponchatoula, Louisiana; Greeley West FFA chapter from Greeley, Colorado; Perrydale High School FFA from Amity, Oregon; Blytheville FFA Chapter of Blytheville, Arkansas and The Louisiana State FFA Association.
