After debate last Friday and Monday, the Senate is expected to begin voting on amendments to the 2007 Farm Bill on Tuesday. Both parties are allowed 20 amendments under the deal that was brokered last Thursday. Several amendments have already been introduced. Among the key issues that will be decided are payment limits and possible inclusion of a renewable fuels standard.
Senate Leadership staff have said the goal is to complete work on the bill by week's end, although many think it will be early next week before the Senate has the bill finished.
