USDA's Foreign Agricultural Service continues to accept FY 2010 applications for three export market development programs: the Emerging Markets Program, the Quality Samples Program, and the Technical Assistance for Specialty Crops program. These programs are designed to help expand commercial export markets for U.S. agricultural commodities. New proposals will be accepted until FY2010 funding is exhausted.
EMP is a market access program that provides funding for technical assistance activities intended to promote exports of U.S. agricultural commodities and products to emerging markets in all geographic regions, consistent with U.S. foreign policy.
QSP helps U.S. organizations supply samples of U.S. commodities to potential foreign buyers and provides technical assistance regarding product quality and proper use as a means to encourage new purchases.
The TASC program helps open, retain and expand markets for U.S. specialty crops. Resources are provided to address barriers, including phytosanitary or related technical restrictions that prohibit or threaten the export of U.S. specialty crops.
