All U.S. exports of corn gluten feed and DDGS must be certified Bt-10 free until January 31, 2006.
The European Union announced the extension of import controls on U.S. corn products at the end of last week. The EU implemented the import controls in April of this year following an announcement of an inadvertent release of Syngenta's Bt-10 corn.
Under the import controls, all U.S. exports of corn gluten feed and distiller's dried grains with solubles to the EU must be certified free of Bt-10 corn by an internationally accredited laboratory.
The controls, which were due to expire this month, were extended through January 2006, when they will be reviewed.
