U.S. ethanol producers continue setting new records for production. According to the Energy Information Administration, American ethanol facilities produced 728,000 barrels per day in July of 2009. That is up 114,000 from a year ago.
Ethanol demand, as calculated by the Renewable Fuels Association, continues to outpace production. According to RFA, demand was 748,000 barrels per day in July. That's up from 635,000 one year ago.
EIA also reports fuel ethanol imports of 42.4 million gallons in July. RFA says there is a 19.1 day reserve ethanol.
