E15 Lawsuit Brought Against EPA
Engine manufacturers want to block E15 from being sold.

Earlier this year the Environmental Protection Agency gave approval for E15 fuels to be sold in 2007 and newer vehicles. The next step is for EPA to approve E15 sales in 2001 to 2006 model year vehicles. Now, the engine manufacturers have filed a lawsuit against EPA to block E15 from being sold as a legal fuel in the United States. The suit has the attention of the Renewable Fuels Association and Growth Energy.
RFA says EPA could have avoided this kind of market confusion by following all the science to its logical conclusion and allowing the use of E15 for all cars and light duty pickup trucks. Meanwhile, Growth Energy CEO Tom Buis points out that the scientific evidence demonstrates clearly that E15 is safe not only for newer vehicles but also for all passenger cars and trucks on the road today.
"Concerns about misfueling are premature," Buis said "EPA is drafting a robust labeling rule and will conduct a vigorous public education campaign, and we are confident that the process will be successful."
According to RFA, the only way to meet the nation's energy, economic and environmental goals as put forth in the Renewable Fuels Standard is to increase ethanol consumption. Allowing for the use of E15 blends is a safe and appropriate step toward meeting these goals.

NOT A SINGLE ENGINE MANUFACTURER APPROVES OF USE OF HIGHER E15 GASOLINE IN CONVENTIONAL ENGINES. Use of this new gas type will invalidate engine warranty for fuel system repairs (whether or not the damage was caused by over-blended ethanol above manufacturer-and EPA approved limit of 10%). Until engines are sold that are warranted for use of new E15 gas type, all of this is a complete waste of time and money and has turned-off many to everything ethanol, (even those of us who "used to" support E85, since it has a positive advantage of replacing petroleum) -E10 and E15 have absolutely no advantages and have caused many unnecessary expense, inconvenience, etc. E85 in approved flex-fuel vehicles is the only reasonable and rationale option...Personally I don't even own an E85 vehicle anymore since I'm so disgusted by the blatant fraud, deception and greed now surrounding ethanol companies and promoters...Rather than waste anymore time debating, testing and submitting formal legal actions against E15 and other upcoming increases in ethanol use (mandates, quotas, E20, etc.), those aware and concerned about the engine damage, inconvenience and unnecessary expenses ethanol-blends of gas will cause should INSTEAD PETITION to protect your right to NON-ETHANOL (ethanol-free) fuel at the gas pumps. Petition for "Ethanol-Free Fuel Choice" can be found at:

I'm confident that if this is accomplished (ethanol-free gas being offered "as a consumer choice" in every U.S. town), the dramatic drop in sale of E10 will result in it eventually being phased-out of the market based on decreasing volume sold. Even those who have not experienced engine damage and/or poor performance from E10 (often sold over-blended or contaminated with water), will chose ethanol-free gas due to the dramatic drop in mpg/fuel efficiency of ethanol in gas. Note: It is solely due to lack of education and awareness that those companies supporting ethanol (based on profit motives) have gone this far and so blatantly mis-guided the EPA's decisions. It's time for consumers and engine manufacturers to join together to put a stop to this nonsense once and for all. Thanks for your support -Fuel-Testers/MLR Solutions Company
