Argentina's Agriculture Secretariat released its weekly crop report Friday that showed a wide variety of conditions for the 2008-2009 wheat crop due to drought, frost and hailstorms.
Frost on Nov. 15 coupled with drought conditions have dropped yields in the Bragado district of Buenos Aires province to an average of 2.8 metric tons per hectare according to the Secretariat.
Harvest pace is 10% ahead of last year with 53% complete, however the Secretariat predicts a harvest of 10.1 million tons compared to the 16 million harvested last year.
