During the week of July 5, inspections of corn, wheat and soybeans decreased in all major export regions, coming in 42% lower than the week before, according to USDA's Grain Transportation Report. The week's figures were the lowest of 2007.
Compared to the week before, corn inspections were down 34%, wheat dropped 56%, and soybeans decreased 24%.
Nevertheless, year-to-date inspections were on the same pace as last year, and inspections may be recovering with increased grain barge and rail traffic.
