Exports of U.S. corn exceeded 54. 3 million tons (2.1 billion bushels) for the 2005/2006 marketing year, according to USDA's export sales report released last week.
Sales to the top five markets for U.S. grain - Japan, Mexico, Korea, Taiwan and Egypt - increased compared to the previous year's sales, accounting for approximately 43% of total 2005/06 corn exports.
Sorghum exports were reported down slightly due to decreased production. Exports still account for nearly half of all U.S. sorghum use.
