COOL Interim Rule Clarified

The USDA's Agricultural Marketing Service has released a one-page paper clarifying the Interim Final Rule on mandatory Country of Origin Labeling as it pertains to livestock producers using affidavits.

"We appreciate USDA making these clarifications in favor of cattle producers, which allows producers to use affidavits when they are buying and selling cattle, and to allow the use of affidavits to provide origin information to packers," says R-CALF USA CEO Bill Bullard.
