Connected Farm Integrates Farm Data With New Abilities

Track vehicles, monitor farm operations, access maps, and keep records in real time.

Published: Jan 19, 2011

Trimble and its Farm Works division have expanded the capabilities of Connected Farm, its service of providing real time record keeping and communication between the farm office and field operations.

The new version of Connected Farm includes wireless data sharing that allows managers to track vehicle movement and service hours, place geo-fences around farms and fields to determine when vehicles are entering or leaving, and connect to VRS Now Ag to receive real time, sub-inch corrections for Real Time Kinematics accuracy.

The management tool retains its ability to design or edit an A/B line, or boundary files for section switching, and immediately share that information with other vehicles in the field.

Likewise, Connected Farm allows the coordination of vehicle management by sending instructions to the cab of one's choice using Sync.

Connected Farm also allows the streamlining of soil sampling data collection by wirelessly transferring target maps to the field using Sync, or completed jobs to the farm office using Mobile software and a Trimble handheld.

More information is available at www.connectedfarm.com.
