Changes Announced to Supply and Demand Reports

New numbers added to report.
Compiled by staff
Published: May 8, 2009

The World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates report scheduled to be released next Tuesday will present USDA's initial assessment of U.S. and world crop supply and demand prospects and U.S. prices for the 2009/10 marketing year. Also presented will be the first calendar-year 2010 projections of U.S. livestock, poultry, and dairy products. Country-level supply and demand projections for 2009/10 will commence with the May issue for world wheat, coarse grains, rice, oilseeds, and cotton. Previously, reporting of country-level projections for oilseeds and cotton began with the June issue.

The May 12 WASDE report will also reflect changes in the pork supply and use data. Pork stocks data will be adjusted to remove variety meats, currently included in the stocks estimate, to maintain consistency with production and export data. The WASDE report will be issued at 7:30 a.m. CDT next Tuesday.
