Canada Border Rule Expected 'Within Days'

Industry insiders predicted it would be after the election that the Canadian border would reopen to live cattle. That was back in August.

With R-CALF United Stockgrowers of America's lawsuit against USDA, the process has been slowed. Once a rule is published, it will be between 30 to 90 days from whenever it leaves from the department before being implemented.

National Cattlemen's Executive Director Jay Truitt expects we'll see that rule soon, "days soon" he says.
