CAB Campaign Being Pushed by ASA

Campaign designed to let Congress know the importance of biodiesel tax credit.

Published: Apr 26, 2010

All soybean farmers are urged to participate in ASA's C.A.B. Campaign: Call About Biodiesel. Even as they are busy planting their 2010 crops, the American Soybean Association is asking growers to pick up their cell phones and make calls this week from their tractor cab to promote passage of a retroactive extension of the vital biodiesel tax credit.

"Your two Senators and your Representative need to know that you care about this issue and how it impacts our economy and your profitability," ASA President Rob Joslin said. "The ASA wants to see the biodiesel tax incentive extension enacted before the Memorial Day recess."

ASA encourages growers to talk about Green Jobs being lost; state and local economic impacts; an estimated cost of 25 cents per bushel; and the many positive contributions biodiesel makes to the economy and environment. A resource for more information is www.soygrowers.com.
