Biodiesel Makes Big Jump in Soyoil Consumption

The amount of soyoil used by biodiesel facilities in July was much more than expected. At 346 million pound, it was an increase of 89 million pounds from June and more than double the amount used last year.

Part of the increase can be attributed to the 250 million gallons of annual biodiesel production capacity that came online before July 1, and the fact that unused capacity has not increased significantly.
