Published: Dec 21, 2011

BASF Corporation has announced today that it has granted Cheminova Inc. exclusive distribution rights and use of the trademark Sovran in the United States.

BASF will discontinue selling Sovran fungicide, which will be exclusively marketed and sold through Cheminova effective immediately.

Sovran contains the active ingredient kresoxim-methyl.  It controls powdery mildew, Botrytis and other diseases on crops such as grapes, cucurbit vegetables, pome fruit and pecans.

"The transition of Sovran distribution to Cheminova will allow BASF to focus on its new innovations such as Kixor herbicide technology, Xemium fungicide, and our growing portfolio of new products," said Paul Rea, Vice President, US Crop Protection.
