Published: Sep 26, 2006

The U.S. Departments of Agriculture (USDA) and Energy (DOE) revealed an updated list of keynote speakers Monday for the jointly hosted upcoming conference, Advancing Renewable Energy: An American Rural Renaissance.  The conference will take place at America's Center in St. Louis, Missouri, from October 10-12.

The departments aim to bring together important stakeholders in biofuels, solar and wind energy at the conference in order to create a discussion about researching, developing and deploying alternative energy in the U.S.

Topics discussed will include adapting and building infrastructure, building supply and distribution, and creative market models and partnerships.  USDA confirmed four new speakers: Stephen L. Johnson, EPA Administrator; Senator Jim Talent, R-Mo.; S. Richard Tolman, Chief Executive Officer of the National Corn Grower Association; and Randall Swisher, Executive Director, American Wind Energy Association.  These speakers join a list including Agriculture Secretary Mike Johanns and DOE Secretary Samuel Bodman.

You can view the conference agenda and register online at www.AdvancingRenewableEnergy.gov .
