ACRE Payments Ranked by States Most Likely to Receive

Kansas State University has analyzed states and crops as to likelihood of ACRE payments.

The sign-up for the USDA's Average Crop Revenue Election program ended Friday. For farmers who did sign-up, Kansas State University Agricultural Economist Art Barnaby has put together several tables that rank the likelihood of receiving payment under ACRE based on state and crop.

The larger the percentage of projected gross percentage of guaranteed lost, the deeper ACRE is in the money and the more likely to pay. If projected gross percentage of guaranteed lost is over 20% then the odds favor payment, if less than 10%, then it is less likely, and Barnaby says flip a coin for the rest of the states.
